All cars have to use street-legal tyres (no DoT ‘cheats’), mufflers, regularly available pump fuel and all required street equipment. Every car has to complete a 25-30 mile road ‘cruise’ that ensures they are street-driven as well as street-legal. Wheelie-bars are not permitted at any time.
Power adders vary with turbochargers, nitrous oxide and superchargers all being employed to provide mind-blowing performances. The quicker cars run deep into the seven-second zone and it surely won’t be too long before we see the first 200mph pass. And remember that these are street-legal and street-driven cars. The class ET record stands at 7.80 seconds – in comparison a Bugatti Veyron will do the ¼ in 10.5!
